Anyway, two or so weeks into this so-called reviews, I fee like I'm still not doing enough to push myself. I've done the Performance Test Workshop with Prof Holtz (which I highly recommend, btw) and enrolled in the Essay Advantage course for BarBri (although I sometimes wish I lived in Frisco so that I can take it with Prof Adachi and wouldn't have to buy his books separately). I'm contemplating on whether I should enroll in Adaptibar for more MBE questions.
As a summary:
- Performance Test Workshop with Prof. John Holtz I highly recommend him for the Performance Test portion of the exam. He's also got ample tips that you can apply for the essay portion as well as the MBE. Check out his page and enroll in one of his workshops. I would suggest going to the 3-day workshop. ($495 less discounts)
- Essay Advantage (which already started last weekend). Helpful for repeaters, but may not be as helpful for first-timers. It's ill-advised to take this course along with the regular BarBri paced program because I think it would be just a waste of time and money. For repeat takers, on the other hand, it would be beneficial because you get a substantive review of the subjects, get subject-specific essay tips, and essays get graded. ($15++ for BarBri alumni)
- PMBR I took the 6-day PMBR course a few weeks ago (missed two lessons). It was a great jump start to doing MBEs. Their suggestion is to do 50 Qs a day. I'm doing more than that, but breaking it up into sessions just because I feel like I could improve my MBE scores much better. I didn't take it last year despite knowing that multiple choice is my weakness. I also checked all my books from BarBri for the MBE Qs and they were clean so I can use those BarBri Qs as well. I'm taking the 3-day course in July which consists of one simulated MBE exam and two days of review. ($690 cos i registered way back when I was still a 1L)
- MBE Strategies and Tactics I ordered the book and it should be arriving today. I will be alternating between the BarBri, PMBR, and this book for my MBE Qs so that I won't get used to the editorial styles of the different books. ($64)
- Other resources that I'm still considering whether I should take/buy it or not: Adaptibar, Jeff Adachi's Bar Breaker Series or just the MBE book that he has. I'm giving myself until Friday to decide whether or not I will take/buy the above mentioned resources. If I can't make up my mind I'll leave it to destiny by flipping a coin. Reasons why I'm hesitant is because I feel like I've already got all the resources I could need and this would be just an unnecessary additional expense. (Adaptibar: $345, books range from $35-100)
